Maerill Anne Ballesteros, the first ever Venvi scholar was among the 2,800 graduating students of Mariano Marcos State University, Class of 2019. Despite the pouring rain, she ecstatically accepted her diploma for finishing her college degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Major in Marketing Management last June 7, 2019 at the university’s famous Sunken Garden.

One of three siblings, her father serves as a sole provider for their family of 5 as a construction worker while her mother mans their household. Despite their lack of financial capability, Ballesteros was very determined to finish her studies. After various screening processes, she was granted a scholarship last 2015 through a recommendation from Bin-I Express Foundation of San Nicolas under Dr. Alfredo Valdez. Venvi Agro Industrial Ventures Corporation then took her under their wings and financially supported her throughout her college education.

On her Facebook post, Ballesteros thanked her family, friends and relatives for their unending support. She added, “To all who helped me financially, mentally and emotionally, thank you for believing in me. I am beyond blessed that I had met such people in my life. Thank you so much!”

As part of the scholarship agreement, Ballesteros is guaranteed an employment opportunity in Venvi after graduation. Currently, the company is scouting for new scholars for the forthcoming academic year.
